چکیده
Abstract Background With better precision of the brachial plexus block (BPB) under real-time ultrasound guidance, supraclavicular BPB (SC-BPB) and infraclavicular (IC-BPB) are being used interchangeably for upper limb surgeries. However, number anesthesiologists practicing SC-BPB is much more than those IC-BPB. Many studies have compared IC-BPB, but a study comparing para-vascular approach costo-clavicular IC-BPB missing. This prospective with SC-BPB. A total 80 patients (40 in each group), aged 18–65 years, belonging to ASA class I II undergoing hand, wrist forearm surgery were randomly allocated group S (receiving SC-BPB) IC-BPB). The two groups respect success rate, performance time, time taken achieve surgical anesthesia, efficacy, safety providing anesthesia below elbow Results Block was significantly higher (100%) vs (92.5%), P value 0.03. Scan SC-BPB, 0.001. comparable; longer Time first rescue analgesia 0. 001. requiring intraoperative sedation comparable, 0.99. Conclusions has greater rate surgeries provides postoperative analgesia.

Low-Volume Brachial Plexus Block Providing Surgical Anesthesia for Distal Arm Surgery Comparing Supraclavicular, Infraclavicular, and Axillary Approach: A Randomized Observer Blind Trial
Background. Distal arm surgery is widely performed under regional anesthesia with brachial plexus block. The preponderance of evidence for the efficacy relies upon injection of local anesthetic in excess of 30 mL. We aimed to compare three different ultrasound-guided brachial plexus block techniques restricting the total volume to 20 mL. Methods. 120 patients were prospectively randomized to ul...

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES This study shows the constant infraclavicular fossa presence, aiming at using it as a pathway for infraclavicular brachial plexus block. Determining the point where brachial plexus fascicles may be located within the fossa, the authors have proposed measurements from the anterior surface of the clavicle and the angle formed by the deltoid muscle and the clavicle (delto...
متن کاملInfraclavicular brachial plexus block in Wilson's disease.
Wilson's disease (WD) is characterized by progressive copper accumulation with hepatic and neurological impairment. Anesthesia and surgical practices may exacerbate WD and liver damage, and even cause life-threatening liver failure. Due to this existing liver damage, anesthetic management is important in WD cases in terms of drug choice, dose, and technique used. This study reports an emergency...
متن کاملComparison of the Supraclavicular, Infraclavicular and Axillary Approaches for Ultrasound-Guided Brachial Plexus Block for Surgical Anesthesia
OBJECTIVE We hypothesized that ultrasound (US)-guided technique of the supra- and infraclavicular and axillary approaches of brachial plexus block (BPB) will produce a high quality of surgical anesthesia for operations below the shoulder independently of the approach and body mass index (BMI). Intercostobrachial and medial brachial cutaneous nerves will be blocked separately because they are no...
متن کاملUltrasound-guided infraclavicular brachial plexus block.
BACKGROUND Peripheral nerve blocks are almost always performed as blind procedures. The purpose of this study was to test the feasibility of seeing individual nerves of the brachial plexus and directing the block needle to these nerves with real time imaging. METHODS Using ultrasound guidance, infraclavicular brachial plexus block was performed in 126 patients. Important aspects of this stand...
